Problem statement#1

We have selected 'All prices include tax' option from the 'Tax calculations' section of Shopify dashboard as shown in the below screenshot.

Based on above configurations, Is it possible to show net of VAT prices to the Wholesale customers?

Problem Statement#2

How do we add/show VAT to the total for the wholesale prices? We can't set the price to automatically have this included, as our European dealers don't pay VAT, so the price displayed needs to be excluding VAT, but then added at the end with a breakdown of this. Please can you advise if this is at all possible?

Custom Solution

As you have selected 'All Prices include tax' option, so by default the tax is included in the prices showing up on different pages such as home collection, product, cart and checkout pages.
However, there is only 1 case where we can display the VAT excluded prices on the home, collection, product and cart pages but we can't modify the checkout page where VAT included prices will appear back.

You would need to set up Wholesale Prices including VAT for the wholesale customers in the application pricing rules. We can write custom script to show the prices excluding taxes on home, collection, product and  cart pages for the wholesale customers. On the cart page or/and cart drawer, we can display the tax amount separately for the Wholesale customers.

Note, We can't modify the checkout page to show the tax amount separately unless you're using Shopify Plus plan. On the checkout page, the Wholesale customer will see wholesale prices including VAT that you originally set up in the application pricing rule.

On the checkout page, Shopify automatically includes the tax amount in the product prices. We are not allowed to edit the checkout page to display the tax separately like we do on the cart page. Pease see the screenshot below:

Note, If you're using Shopify Plus plan then we edit the checkout page to display the tax separately on the checkout page as we do on the cart page.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need to put in the +VAT price or EX VAT price in the Wholesale Pricing rule?

It's required to set up the VAT included price in the Discount rule under the wholesale application dashboard, then our custom script will show the VAT excluded prices automatically on the collection, product and cart pages. The VAT included price you enter in the discount rule will appear on the checkout page.
